Gower Macmarathon!
Leave the first response September 11, 2006 / Posted in Web StuffWell we did it! 22 miles walking along the coast of Wales from Rhossili to Mumbles! BBC South West Wales have some pictures of the day and by some bizarre quirk of fate we’re in picture 16 (but you only see our backs). The picture is the final turn towards Mumbles and it was with a great deal of relief that the end came into sight. It took us 8 hours 10 minutes to make it the whole way round (which sounds a lot, but remember it’s up and down along the cliffs).
A big thanks to Keith Bond, Antony from OLBG, Elaine & Dave of Allkids, Catherine from Brand Conversions, Fraser from Affiliate Blog, Graeme from PaidonResults and Kieron from UKOffer for sponsoring myself and Jude. (If anyone else wants to then you still can by going here – although it’ll close on the 15th). Their contribution plus donations from Loquax users means that we have a total of at least £700, plus there’s a bit more to add on.
Anyway, the aches and pains have subsided, and the nightmare of the never ending sands of Oxwich have gone, so all being well, we’ll be back walking along The Gower for next year’s Macmarathon!
