Weasel Coffee – It Really Exists

Apr 20, 2005 by Jason    Comments Off    Posted under: Uncategorized

Stephen Fry allegedly gave Prince Charles and Camilla Weasel Coffee as a wedding present (after all what else do you buy a man who has everything?). And now you too can buy Weasel Coffee from Firebox.

Weasel Coffee is made from coffee beans that have gone through the digestive system of rare Vietnamese weasels (they eat them and regurgitate them apparently!). The mixing of their gastric juices with the coffee beans gives the coffee a different flavour that according to Firebox “will appeal to serious connoisseurs of the mighty bean”. At £15.95 a packet it’s definately a special occasions coffee – mind, given the price of a coffee at the likes of Starbucks and Costa it’s probably a cheaper option!

5% from the sale of each bag of weasel coffee goes toward the preservation of wildlife in Northern Vietnam – but how long before other animals cotton on to this gourmet food trade? After all we already have Monkey Nuts….
