Hotel Booking Confimations

Apr 16, 2005 by Jason    Comments Off    Posted under: Uncategorized

I rarely check online order confirmations. I always assume the service I’m using is correct and functioning as it should be. Bad move. On April 8th I booked 2 nights at the Travel Inn Tower Bridge – the dates should have been for May! So imagine my surprise when a letter arrived charging me for one nights no show on April 8th.

Looking at the confirmation email – oops it does say we booked rooms for April 8th and not May! Now, when booking online I’m pretty certain that the dates entered were the ones in May. Having spoken to Travel Inn their position remains static. Their policy is no show equals pay up. Despite explaining the situation they’re not interested. They’re right the customer is wrong. So they’ve now lost a customer and a letter of complaint is heading towards their customer services department expressing my disappointment.

In future I’ll check those confirmation emails though – and most certainly will avoid staying at the Travel Inn in the future if possible – I’ll have to use our UK Hotel Breaks service instead!
