A lot of Southampton supporters have enjoyed their best day for a long time following the announcement that Rupert Lowe and his board have stepped down, just 3 days before an EGM that would have seen him ousted by majority shareholder Michael Wilde. The last couple of years as a Southampton supporter have been pretty depressing. Relegation, players leaving and lack of investment plus the various issues with Harry Redknapp and Sir Clive Woodward haven’t made for happy days.

Hopefully this is the start of a new era for Southampton and perhaps the start of The Saints marching back into The Premiership.
