Regular attendees to affiliate get2gethers may notice that there’s more than a few ample sized delegates (I’m excluded having managed to maintain roughly the same weight since affiliate day one). According to Moose on the Loose this is “a natural side symptom of the territory when you are involved with affiliate marketing” (and so much so Paul is running the first affiliate fat camp over in Portugal later this month!). Obviously sitting at a PC day in and day out isn’t too healthy, but thankfully, according to The Times, scientists have come up with the perfect solution for all PC workers!

The report describes that experiments were conducted with a moveable workstation that comes with a desk that “can be positioned over a wheel which employees can turn as though operating an old-fashioned treadle sewing machine or emulating a small furry rodent in a cage”.

Apparently sitting at a PC only burns around 72 calories an hour (so stuffing that Mars Bar down you whilst reading the new look Affiliates4U isn’t doing you any good!), but “wheeling the desk over a treadmill forces the worker to walk the equivalent of one mile in an hour, burning 191 calories”!

This is a fantastic idea, even for slender affiliates like myself who would find exercise and the gym more appealing if stats could be checked or emails sent at the same time.
