The Lucky So and So’s
Posted under: One of the nice things about Loquax is hearing of the prizes that our users are winning. There’s usually a decent prize mentioned each week plus things like books, DVDs and smaller prizes on a daily basis. On occasion there’s a biggie like a car but this month we’ve had a hattrick of winners posting. One has scooped a Daewoo (i think), but the other two have got themselves a brand new BMW and a brand new Porsche respectively! Not bad eh?
I’ve never won a car, although a few years back did win a Vespa Scooter. After just driving it 20 miles it was sold (too wobbly, too unsafe and anyone over six foot should just not drive a scooter, it’s not right .. it’s like Noddy on 2 wheels).
Another kind of biggie is the holiday and if you’ve ever wondered why some holiday sites just don’t convert then here’s why: it’s impossible to book anything! We spent nearly two hours in Thomas Cook trying to book a holiday. Despite knowing what we wanted and when we wanted to go it almost became a trial just to book anything… and besides after about an hour I don’t think the assistant was going to let us out without booking anything!
Sadly first choice Kenya went west due to problems with dates and flights (and just how expensive are business class upgrades!). After trying numerous other destinations we finally settled on … Cuba (which happened to be where Jude wanted to go)! If anything it’ll be different, but at least it has rum, caribbean beaches and apparently virgins rubbing their thighs (so i’m told).
