[...] Mistakes happen in affiliate marketing by affiliates, networks and merchants. The key to resolving these issues is for those involved to hold up their hands and sort out the problem asap. So it’s fair play to Kalim at Xopic for not hanging about and offering an apology for his late night phonecalls. [...]

I do feel like a total idiot right now, and Jason I am so sorry for the call, I did honesty believe it was a business number and that the message would be picked up in business hours, I am working odd hours at the moment and just didn't think twice, in retrospect I should have done. I have learned a harsh lesson early on, and the post above about Jude thinking it could be an emergency call makes me realise just how it will have disturbed you.

Again I apologies, I completely understand your position and I'm feeling pretty stupid to have lost your support for our new programme so early on.

2am? That's just silly isn't it?! Obviously this chap thinks that all affiliates would be up at 2am working feverishly on their websites. Perhaps he'd read the "grubby" article ;)

When I heard the message going onto the answer phone last night, my first thought was "phew, not the police or hospital, shortly followed by bloody US companies not checking the time difference etc."

When Jason told me it was from UK based Xopic and showed me the emails he'd received around 2am. I hit the roof. When I hear the phone ring at night (and I'm sure I'm not alone in this) I instantly think "s***, who's died".

What kind of person phones at 2am in the morning because they're not happy with their description on Loquax? (and where did they get our number?) The description, although maybe not be the kindest was accurate - if you don't like it, deal with it through the proper channels. Is it too much to ask for some consideration!

2am! Are you kidding?

I thought I was unlucky with an 8pm call on a Friday night from the MD of iiRobotics.com complaining about a post I made on my blog saying that affiliates should avoid them. But 2am they're taking the piss right?!

The thing is now other affiliates will avoid them in the fear of getting calls at stupid o'clock. An email is fine, most affiliates check their emails regularly anyway. Give the affiliate a chance to respond. I would have recommended that they wait at least until Monday lunchtime before giving you a call!
