Dialaphone Ring The Changes for Voucher Codes

More good news in the old mailbox this morning this time in terms of voucher codes! Dial-a-phone have taken issue with voucher code sites that mislead users into clicking for a non-existent or expired code and have issued the following changes to their terms and conditions.

It is now against the terms of the Dial-a-Phone programme to advertise having a vouchercode to be used on the Dial-a-Phone website when none actually exist. Statements like “click here to receive vouchercode”, then linking to the site while offering no physical vouchercode will not be permitted and those found to be doing so risk having their sales cancelled. Advertising free delivery or a free item which does not require use of a vouchercode to claim is also not acceptable.

Voucher code sites though are offered some leeway in the form of…

Replacing “click here for vouchercode” with “click here to visit the site” will be permitted and is recommended when promoting dial-a-phone’s free gifts and free delivery policy.

Another good move by a merchant (two in one day – it’s almost a Ferrero Rocher moment as with these changes you are really spoiling us), which hopefully will be followed by other merchants taking up the baton.

One point does disappoint though and that’s the wording regarding an affiliate caught out will “risk having their sales cancelled”. I think this should read “will have their sales cancelled and removed from the program”!

Terms and conditions are all well and good, but they need bite and application. A few lost sales here and there and a slap on the wrist isn’t enough to stop some affiliates flouting the terms – so come on networks start insisting upon “sales will be lost” and “affiliate relationships cancelled”. It’s a draconian measure, but it’ll be more effective.

Well its all fine and well saying those changes will come into affect however it’s enforcing them that will matter if someone is sending dialaphone 200 sales a month iam certain they wont cut them off just for a case of wording…. its all about getting the affiliate onside and gaining some positive press like you are doing right now! Mind you i would like to see alot more of this but at the end of the day it does not really matter, those who can push large volumes will always get away with murder and those who cant will get punished to show other affiliates that they are doing there job…simple…
