We’re Not Going To CAP in Barcelona!
I’ve had endless streams of emails over the last week or so from gaming merchants announcing that they’re off to Barcelona for CAP Euro and how they’d love to meet their affiliates. However, after umming and ahhing too long about booking flights & hotels and then failing to blag our way there via a couple of merchant competitions we’re sadly not going to be heading to the event in Spain.
Had September not been such a busy month and Expo not been just around the corner, the trip would be on, but unfortunately it’s going to have to be a no show.
In some ways it’s disappointing not to be going as it could be a useful event - most certainly there’s enough UK gaming merchants going over to CAP Euro so it’d have been useful to catch up with some them. Also I’ve never been to Barcelona and a few days of partying there would have been great fun.
On the other hand once again I’m left wondering why it is I only ever hear from some affiliate managers just before these events? If you’re that keen to meet your affiliates why not communicate with them for the other 50 odd weeks of the year? Or organise an event in the UK and invite people along?
It can be done! One merchant who we’ve just started working with has already offered us trips to two events - sadly the dates collided with other things - so if they can do it…
Anyway I’m hoping the dates for CAP Euro 2009 in London are announced soon so that we can make sure we’re free to attend that event and catch up with these elusive affiliate managers :o)
