Nominations Now Open For Community A4UAwards

Forget presidential elections and caucuses, move aside Hilary and Baracka and get out the way Andy Abraham and Dustin the Turkey (Eurovision for those of you who don’t know) the a4uawards are now taking nominations from the affiliate marketing community! There’s no essays to write about your nominations, just a plain and simple fill in a box and nominate – go and do it now.

The community can nominate in the following categories

Publisher’s Choice Of Network
Publisher’s Choice Of Account Manager
Affiliate Manager of 2008
Affiliate Marketing Blog of 2008
Agency of the Year
Publisher of the Year

For me all the A4UAwards should be community led, but at least some of them are and that therefore means it’s up to the community to make sure the best win these prizes – and that all the community gets involved in nominating and voting.

One of the problems I forsee though, and apologies in advance for the slight criticism, is that the 2007 awards were awarded in October, so in effect there’s only been a short period for any new shining stars to come through since last year’s nominations – so will we just see a repeat of last year?.

Also are the awards based on effort from January 1st 2008 or since the end of the last awards? It’s a bit confusing in that respect and perhaps requires some clarity on what nominees should be thinking about before making their nominations (see comments).

All that aside remember these are the community awards – and a way for affiliate people to recognise the best amongst their peers – so make sure you make your nominations today. You have until the 25th April to make your mind up!

Who To Nominate?

I’m still considering my own nominations. Network is the toughest to choose if I base it on 2008 experience alone, mainly as it’s much of a muchness – from a duckland’s point of view they (the main UK ones that is) have all been pretty good so far!

One account manager springs to mind as does one affiliate manager. Blog of the year is this one – well someone has to nominate it! Agency of the year is between two, one who will probably win and one who I think won’t win but deserves a nomination.

Good points Jason. I guess if you vote in April thats a good 6 months after the awards held in October as part of a4uexpo, but I see your point, its not a huge gap.

I think in our minds when nominating we should be looking at activity post November until present day or untl the nomination deadline.

Don’t forget there is a second round of voting where we’ll publish the top five (the shortlist) and we’ll be asking back those who voted to once again choose an outright winner.

We’ve adapted the awards significantly through feedback and now have 7 community awards including the ‘Affiliates4u Award for Excellence’ where its imperative people nominate their industry champions or stars.

    See the site for details!
