All About One Little Duck
One Little Duck is the affiliate blog of Jason Dale, co-director of Loquax Ltd - the company behind Loquax a competition portal service that has been online since 1998. Loquax was initially a demon internet homepage, but has since become a thriving community website. Over 9 years it has developed into a well established and successful business.
Loquax as a company has been involved in affiliate marketing for around 7 years! Our main focus in affiliate marketing has been content, community and SEO, but we’ve never taken much interest in the PPC arena. We have tried arbitrage/espotting type sites and have also utilised product feeds - all with varying degrees of success.
The One Little Duck Blog will never tell you how to make money online, claim to have the right answers, or wave pound signs in front of you to impress you either. It’s simply a blog from an affiliate who works hard day in day out trying to run a site and utilise AM to earn a living. Affiliate marketing has played an important role in the development of the website as a business and this blog is designed to reflect the ups and downs that this site owner faces whilst working in the industry.
A Bit More About Me
I got into the internet back in 1997. After studying for a PhD in Geochemistry at Newcastle University, the career pathway before me was not exactly what I’d hoped for, and so academic disillusionment led to internet interest. After entering a few competitions and being successful (prizes have included holidays to Barbados and a Vespa Scooter), Loquax was formed.
Initially a hobby site, Loquax developed into a full time business and I became more involved in affiliate marketing through A4UForum. My first encounter with other affiliate’s was the ‘Limo Club’ tour of networks in London and I’ve attended a number of meetings since then and still regularly post on A4U (where I’ve mysteriously acquired a ‘Mr Grumpy’ tag).

Why Do An Affiliate Blog?
Good question! Hopefully One Little Duck offers visitors a different perspective to affiliate marketing than other blogs. I’m not involved in PPC, nor deeply involved in day to day communication with networks or merchants. First and foremost I run a website and want to utilise affiliate marketing to generate revenue. Hopefully my experiences can help other affiliates or generate discussion points that may be ignored - and if that doesn’t happen, well it’s quite fun writing a blog anyway.
