Affiliate Cold Turkey - On An Eco Break in Wales

How many times have you tried to take a break and leave affiliate marketing behind, only to have a sneaky peak at the web via your mobile or internet cafe? If you’re like me, that’s probably every holiday since you started AM, so imagine being in a secluded place where there’s no TV, no internet, no wifi, no mobile signal and a lot of sheep.

And then throw in a Tipi!

Teepee or Not Tipi That Is The Question

The Eco Retreat is located near to Machyllneth up in the Welsh Hills. It’s green, over run by sheep and remarkably peaceful.

Camping isn’t high up on my list of “things I’d love to do on holiday” and I do like to be in touch with affiliate and internet things whilst surrounded by the usual creature comforts. So, I wasn’t overly keen on spending time outdoors in a posh tent.

It isn’t the cheapest break, but it was well worth the money. The location is beautiful, green and secluded - away from all the usual hustle and bustle of modern life. There’s no technology here and your only luxury is the Tipi, which has a gas stove and a proper bed complete with sheepskins.

The Tipi was comfortable, warm (thanks to a chimnea which satisfied Jude’s increasing tendancies towards pyromania), and for the most part dry! Weather wise we were lucky, with only a few drops of rain.

After a couple of days of walking, fire building, eating, drinking, drinking, fire building, cold showers, more eating, drinking and marauding sheep - stats, websites, affiliates, merchants, networks and everything else internet and business wise were a thing of the past.

I’d recommend a couple of nights in a Tipi to everyone in affiliate marketing! Rarely have I comeback to deal with the mass of “why aren’t our links plastered all over your site” emails from merchants in such a relaxed mood.

For now Mr Grumpy is Mr Chilled & Grumpy - how long will it last…..
