New 100% Cashback Site Offers 10% More To Shoppers!

The battle for cashback supremacy has taken a new twist with the forthcoming launch of a new cashback site. The site ‘coming soon’ promises shoppers 100% cashback and a little bit more! In fact they’re going to be paying users to shop online.

100% cashback has been a bugbear of many affiliates, including myself, in recent months, especially those who regard themselves as content affiliates. Commissions which would normally be earnt by the content affiliate are potentially lost as users take up more and more generous offers from cashback services. With new sites from Rpoints and Greasypalm now in the mix, this new 110% cashback site is not going going to go down well with affiliates.

Cashback

Many, no doubt, will be questioning the business structure and whether even such a site can establish itself as a genuine competitor to Quidco et al but also become a profitable entity.

The site is owned by Lopstoil Farina Ltd although the landing page contains scant details. However, visitors can sign up for news of the forthcoming launch and be amongst the first to enjoy 110% cashback benefits.

It will be interesting to see how this site develops in the affiliate and cashback landscape.

After Midday Update: Yes you guess it… it was just some April 1st fun! Lopstoil Farina is an anagram of It’s an April Fool and 110percenters is just our made up cashback site that featured in Affiliate Marketing - 2008 - The Year Ahead.

    1. I’m waiting for someone to implement the cashback claim rules that most of the now bankrupt mobile phone suppliers used to use.

They operated on a basis of only 40% of claims being successful so anyone willing to bet on when the first 200% site appears.

As for content affiliates surely the solution is that if you can’t beat them join them. Find a way of combining content with a cashback offer. Surely 25% of a number of purchases is better than 100% of the odd one.

    2. Nice one Jason! I was going to write about a new 110% cashback site myself :) But you beat me to it.

    3. I just googled Lopstoil Farina and found 2 results - this blogpost and an article on Loquax for “Farina Lopstoil” - http://blog.loquax.co.uk/2008/04/01/compers-to-be-hit-by-new-competitions-tax.htm

Probably not the same person though you never know!

The name’s not catchy (110 %ers) but the proof really is in the pudding. The only concern I could see is that given the success of Quidco, if this enjoys the same success, the business model we’ve all got in mind would lose them stacks of cash very quickly.

Also, they haven’t registered the .com name yet.

    4. It took 20 minutes to sink in but a WHOIS check reveals why the .com isn’t registered - the .co.uk is regsitered to a small company called Loquax!

      April Fools hoax!

    5. David you could have saved yourself 20 minutes by visiting the 110percenters and then choosing the ‘Register Today’ click… you’d have found that Lopstoil Farina is in fact an anagram for It’s An April Fool!!
      ;)

    6. @jdmobile - I realised that afterwards. Somebody had to fall for it I suppose!
