Fill Your Boots Before Your Competitor Does!

On February 27th I blogged about our jackpot tracker charts which we dubbed The Trackpot. It did occur to me a week or two back to register the available trackpot.co.uk or trackpots.co.uk domain name and perhaps build a new site but you know how it goes, you forget and other stuff gets in the way.

Today (28th February) I checked the availability of trackpot.co.uk and trackpots.co.uk and they’re now no longer available as of 27th February. They’ve now gone to a company called Trix Online Media! A familiar name to those in bingo land, but who are they you ask? Well they’re the people who own well known bingo site - bingoport.co.uk!

How could they have come up with those names on the same day as my original blog post?

So the lesson here folks is this… if you think you might want the domain name one day, buy it straight away as you never know when a competitor will jump in and take advantage.

Another lesson to you bloggers out there too… remember what you say may be read by your competitors. In this industry, even more so than ever before, make sure you fill your boots - because there’s always someone else willing to jump in them and claim them for their own!

For the record, thetrackpot.co.uk is now registered.

Update: Trix Online Media have offered to transfer the domains to us, which I’ve turned down. The point here is that it was our fault for not registering the domains in the first place. All the same a kind gesture for them to make.
