Blogrush - It Didn’t Take Long To Be Unimpressed

So I finally caved in and signed up for Blogrush having seen it mentioned across so many “Make Money Online” Blogs that perhaps I should give it a go! Signing up was nice and easy, as was getting the little widget. Once pasted in I decided to see what it offered me and it wasn’t long before I was attracted to a blog post - “Make Money With Affiliate Future”!

I clicked on it, and immediately wished I hadn’t!

The clicking was the first indication that all was not right at the freeoffersandmore site I ended up at, and lo and behold up popped the “your PC is not protected” banners. I did get chance to read part of the site, albeit the white writing on the black background wasn’t the easiest to fathom. Anyway, here’s apparently how you make money from Affiliate Future (this was next to a gaming site banner btw):

Bum's Rush for Blogrush

Now, ok it’s not the greatest site in the world, and anyone with an ounce of sense will dismiss the site… but I don’t want that kind of caper being linked from this blog!

Site owners/bloggers should remember that links on your own site are often seen as a recommendation by you to your users - I’d not want to send my user to this site either direct or through a widget as it’s just not of a standard I find acceptable.

I’m guessing there’s no quality control at Blogrush, which leaves it exposed to all kinds of potential problems and issues. Therefore until such controls can be installed sorry Blogrush but your 5 minutes on One Little Duck are now over.

I’ve had Blogrush up for nearly a week now, and I’ve not been impressed tbh, either with the CTRs or quality of “blogs” on the network.

In an email today, they admit there are problems with fraud (people using bots etc to ramp up their credits) and poor quality blogs, and state they will be addressing these two areas as a matter or urgency. I may just pull it until they do get it sorted.

Mate, you don’t give people much of a chance do you? Lol :)

I’ve been using BlogRush since it launched and I’m happy with it. Its actually brought me quite a bit of traffic, and I’ve also found one or two new blogs from clicking on the widget fella. I also got this comment left on my blog from a new visitor:

“Hi Kieron, I just started my blog Sunday and I picked you up tonight from Blogrush. Please have a look at my early efforts and let me know if we can keep in touch. I am based in Manchester.”

Maybe I was just lucky as I know there have been teething problems. Here is an email received today from John Reese at BlogRush. They know whats going on and are doing there best to apply some quality control, give them a chance!

“Unfortunately, the bozos have come out of the woodwork and are trying to cheat the BlogRush system. We have quite a few users that are abusing the system — from running scripts to auto-load the widget, to other fraudulent methods to earn syndication credits for their account that they do not deserve.

These ‘cheaters’ are hurting the overall network and dramatically lowering the click-through rates for our good users. It’s obvious since their “impressions” are not even seen by humans and therefore are not sending any traffic to other users.

There have also been concerns about the QUALITY of blogs in the BlogRush network. Some poor quality blogs (I wouldn’t even call them blogs.. more like pages of junk and ads) have been added to BlogRush and it’s creating a problem.

What We’re Doing About These Issues

    1. We’re moving to a MANUAL REVIEW process. No more automation. We will be reviewing ALL blogs submitted to BlogRush. If the quality of the blog is poor, they will not be allowed to participate. We’re going to start reviewing ALL the blogs that are currently in our network and will be disabling the accounts for poor quality blogs.

    2. We’re continuing to add security measures to our system and we will be mass-removing any and all cheaters that we discover. We will not rest until the cheaters are WIPED OUT and kept from abusing our network. The manual review process will help eliminate most of them as legitimate bloggers that have put in the time to create a decent blog aren’t the types that are going to be abusing the system.

All of these changes will only benefit our users — it wil increase their click-through rates and drive more traffic to their blogs. It will also make sure that the blogs their widget links to are only quality blogs.

For everyone that has signed up for an account and has been testing BlogRush on their blog, thank you for your patience. Please know that we are working as quickly as possible to improve the service.”

But if something isn’t up to scratch then it’s got to go.

Imo I’d rather risk not getting traffic or accruing credits by showing the widget, than potentially allow any one who visits here the opportunity to visit the pile o’crap that I did.

It’s good to know that they’re sorting the issues though, but it’s going to be one hell of a task to maintain quality control.

I am glad I read this post, as I thought I was the only one not too impressed with Blogrush. I have got to say they have done a good PR job as so many websites seem to be running they widgets from the start.

I have not had one referel, I am using it on content blogs and not affiliate marketing make money blogs.

At the moment I can’t see anything good about it.

I would be interested hear from people that have had good results, on sites other than make money blogs who have plugged blogrush in a blog post.
