![]() | Missing The Affiliate Boat! |
Having missed the last boat related affiliate together in London last year (instead optting for a day in the Big Brother House), once again I’ll missing the boat for the A4U/DFDS event up north later this month. When the event was first announced, I do have to admit to thinking it was a DFDS and/or Buy.at only event and not an A4U meeting. Also there’s an Affiliate Window event going on at the same time (ish) and as my relationships with networks are now close to non-existent, I thought it would be idea to go and meet with one.
Unfortunately the boat missing doesn’t end there, as the next A4U event is one I really would like to attend, but unfortunately it’s not possible to attend. The A4U Casino/Gaming vertical meeting is in Birmingham on April 27th, but it’s sadly another event that will pass me by due to other commitments! After that, well it’s CAC Amsterdam, and I’m not going there either, although to be fair I had no plans to attend.
It’s a shame I can’t get to the A4U events though as sadly in affiliate marketing the only way to get anywhere these days is to make a personal appearence. Despite this virtual world we live in, it’s often difficult to find time to discuss programs day to day with the affiliate manager’s who do make the effort via MSN or email.
So, if you can get along to these kind of affiliate events, then it might be worthwhile to make the effort and go. If not, you might end up missing the boat in more ways than one.
