Onwards, Upwards & Ever Expanding

There must be something about the end of June and the start of July where our main server decides enough is enough and requires upgrading. Just like a washing machine that breaks down the day after the warranty runs out - enter July cue server problems! Perhaps that’s a little unfair on the creaking server that we currently have as it’s two years old, has had one minor upgrade, and is now struggling to cope with the burden of looking after a still ever growing website. It’s time to move onwards and upwards with a new server.

Another thing that will be changing is server management. Whilst we do require very little in terms of being looked and probably don’t really required dedicated management, for peace of mind and to save the many hours spent getting annoyed with problems that in the end we can’t fix, we’re now going to invest a few quid to keep the server sorted and properly maintained.

In affiliate terms, we also don’t need that much looking after. We don’t tend to hassle merchants that much or bang on too many network doors - probably to our own detriment if truth be known - but that’s not our way. However, it is nice when networks and merchants send us information, offer discounts, offer incentives or encourage us to promote them - more often than not we’ll try and do something!

Lately we’ve been getting more and more help, discount codes, news and offers. I’m not sure if this is just improved network communications or a genuine interest in working with us. Perhaps a bit of both… which is nice! So a big thanks to networks and merchants who have been sending us emails and information - it’s greatly appreciated!
