A story about Mince Pies!Â
A while back Mr Kipling researchers sat around and looked at a sales chart. Mince Pies sell well at Christmas said Mr Kipling (allegedly) - what we need you boffins to do is come up with something that will sell well at Easter.
So the researchers ummed and ahhed (allegedly again). I know said one what do we have that sells well when there’s a religous festival and at a holiday time? “Mince Pies” the other boffins cried. But won’t punters just think we’re sending out our Christmas product in a different packaging asked one bright spark. Well, said the one who had the idea, we could add a cross on them to make them look different to Christmas Mince Pies! “Hooray” said Mr Kipling!
And so on your shelves are Easter Mince Pies!Â
Â

Â
Easter is not Mince Pies! It’s bad enough that Creme Eggs and other Egg shaped confectionary is on the shelves on Boxing Day, but trying to fob off Mince Pies as Eastery is blurring the lines of things a little bit too much. So I say Oi! Kipling! No!! You might make exceedingly good cakes, but sticking a pastry cross on your Christmas mince pies does not make a tempting Easter treat. Stick to making your Fondant Fancies and Viennese Whirls!
I appreciate this has nothing to do with affiliate marketing, but it needed saying. Although Easter Mince Pies is on par with Lingerie for Mother’s Day promotions but I’ll save that story for another day.
