The A4U Bristol Get2Gether

Well done to Matt and the A4U guys for another successful affiliate meeting, this time outside London and in the pleasent surroundings of Bristol. The event was at The Pitcher & Piano and jam packed and hectic is probably the best way to describe things. However, that didn’t stop the usual chat and drinking and for once, after a G2G, I did come away thinking that as well as the alcohol there I’d done some “business” stuff too.

I did also enjoy talking to a couple of people who genuinely cared about what they were doing and seemed as equally bothered about providing a good service as they were about generating revenue.

One aspect of the G2G’s is knowing who’s who. There is an initial tendancy to flock to your known chums and catch up on things. After that it’s than a case of bumping into people and peering at their chests to discover their name and company. Although potentially very geeky - next G2G all delegates should have to wear a company branded tshirt just to make things easier. Either that or name badges need to be colour co-ordinated, with company name and personal name equally readable!

Still, that’s a small grumble compared to what was a good night out - so many thanks to the A4U/Existem guys for their superb organisation. We didn’t stay for the clubbing, casinoing and dodgem driving and ended up back at the hotel for a “chill out” - via taking pictures of foam!

Fountains and detergent….

Foaming in Bristol

… whilst it did look impressive up close, the photo doesn’t show how big the pile of foam was or how fast it was growing!

Disclaimer: A4U G2G and foam pile are wholly unrelated. Picture was resized using Resize2Mail which is quite a useful web tool.
