I still find the “new and improved” Tradedoubler interface somewhat horrible, unwieldy and not so user friendly as before, I was pleasently surprised when putting together an adverts pool.
Although it would be nice if the %age of advert shows defaulted to the %age of number of ads/100 using the format was relatively easy - however you do need to add selections as you go along (or do a list of 400 creative units) rather than tick the boxes across all pages of creative. One added bonus of creating a pool was that it helped show a large number of new buttons with offers and features we’d previously not known about.
The lack of communication about programs and events to affiliates is somewhat disturbing. As yet not one UK network has a decent information channel on their main pages or merchant pages.
Say Merchant X has updated banners - why can’t this be notified on a news page? If Merchant X has a special offer for affiliates - why can’t this be notified on a news page? If Merchant X has screwed up tracking - why can’t this be notified on a news page?
The answer is they could do this, but for whatever reason they don’t. Keeping affiliates informed through a merchant activity log and having archived details of offers/banner changes/commission changes/tracking issues/meetings/anything within the network pages to me is a logical and sensible thing to do.
