Don’t You Just Hate It…

When an internet magazine writes an article about the sector your website is in and totally overlooks your site. Ok, I’m biased but if you’re going to write about online competitions, surely you include Loquax? Don’t you?? I know when writing articles or features it’s inevitable you miss out something and can’t get everything in, but if you’re going to publish something saying “such and such is the best on the web” then at least make it a fair fight and include the main competitors.

My previous job was a researcher and therefore it’s inbred in me that if you’re going to write something you research the subject. It’s not like you’ll not find Loquax if you search Google for competition related keywords.

The article did mention a couple of our competitors and one other site which in my opinion has nothing much to do with competitions - for an analogy we’ll use Soaps - so what we have is someone mentioning Coronation Street and Eastenders, missing out Emmerdale and including someones Camcorder footage as the third site, then claiming one of them best soap! (We all know Emmerdale is miles better than anything!).

Ok there is also a hint (ok more than a hint) of jealousy, but it would have been nice if Loquax had at least been included in the article, at least that way it would have felt the journalist had done their research. One of our users did email the journalist asking why they left out Loquax - but sadly never received a reply.

We have done well out of magazine articles in the past, so in truth we shouldn’t complain. However, even with that rational thought, it’s still bloomin’ annoying ;o)
