New Sites, Old Sites and PR Confusion

Like many affiliates we’ve had some old sites and some new sites failing to make the grade/get started/appear in the mighty Google. Having spent what feels like hours reading similar stories of woe the only conclusion it seems is to accept the situation, move on, and continue building.

Trying to work out if there’s a penalty, link problem, on the same IP issue, coding error, relevancy issue is all well and good, but even if you honestly analyse each site it can still mean you come up with more questions than answers.

I do think the sites affected at the moment may have had a problem with coding and interestingly two other sites that had similar issues are currently healthy (after the code was removed).

Inbound Links may be the answer - but I’m incredibly anti-please-link-to-me and anti-i’ve linked-to-you-already-so-link-to-me emails that I don’t wish to inflict them on anyone. We get so many of these each day now it’s just ridiculous! And most of the time you know the person/computer emailing you hasn’t even seen your site.

So, it’s a case of ponder, puzzle and probably keep reading other theories and myths as to why Google has decided your site should be or shouldn’t be in the index. After all, MSN and Yahoo have added the sites and quite likes them!
