Grasping at Straws

According to Saints Forever there are 4131 possible permutations that could decide the Premiership relegation situation. For Southampton supporters the good news is that of these permutations Saints have a 36.3% of staying up.

Norwich strangely have just 6.8% although they possibly have the most chance (on paper) of winning their games against Birmingham or Fulham. Sadly for West Brom and Norwich though it does seem that the pundits have deemed this weekends game between Saints and Palace as the relegation decider.

Whatever happens the relegation issue won’t be settled on Saturday even if Southampton win. A Palace win against Charlton and defeat for Saints against Man United could mean a last day change of events. Although this does assume the lads do beat Palace in the first place.

Other things of note… yesterday was Star Wars day (May the 4th be With You) and today is Election Day or 14 days until Star Wars Episode III is released or 14 days more of Jude getting excited by trailers, pictures of Darth Vader’s helmet and long shiny lightsabers.
